Dana Sabudana
Dana Sabudana, also known as Sago Pearls, is a staple ingredient in Indian households, especially during fasting (vrat/upwas) seasons. These small, white, starchy pearls are extracted from the pith of the sago palm or sometimes tapioca roots. They are widely used to prepare light, energy-rich dishes like sabudana khichdi, sabudana vada, kheer, and papad. Easy to digest and high in carbohydrates, Sabudana is considered a quick source of energy, making it an essential fasting food.
